Teachers’
Council
This is a statutory body and the forum for Teaching Members
which serves as a platform to bring forth the problems of
teachers and to solve them in an amicable atmosphere. Many
crucial decisions involving management and faculty are communicated,
solved and ratified through this forum.
The
Teachers’ Council provides meaningful and healthy interaction
among teachers through discussion in meetings, by organizing
Cultural Programmes, and by maintaining relationship with
retired teachers as well as through participation of teachers
in celebrations and functions of the college.
Every
teacher automatically becomes a member of The Teachers’
Council on joining college.
Faculty
and student
The collage has a reputation for recruiting competent staff
as faculty. Each department has a set of highly qualified,
motivated, dedicated and sincere teachers, many of whom are
engaged in active research, postgraduate teaching and serve
as guest lecturers under University of Calcutta and other
Universities.
A
good number of teachers have taken up advanced research programmes
and projects under UGC sponsorship or in collaboration with
other reputed Institutes, Organizations and Universities at
national level. A large number of students successfully graduate
from the college every year. Many of then pursue higher studies
under Calcutta University and other prestigious Universities,
within India and abroad. Several achieve good placement in
different categories of jobs or join services under Educational
and other Organisations of Government and non-government concerns.
There
exists a rare yet friendly relation among teachers, students
and other employees of the college. This permits easy access
of students to teachers which ultimately reflects itself in
sorting out the academic difficulties. Any personal problems
are also solved by the teachers’ experienced and mature
advice and guidance. This free interaction of students and
teachers gives rise to a cordial atmosphere where academic
and co-curricular counselling and discussions thrive.
Guardians' Forum/ Parent Teacher Meetings
Different Departments of the college meet guardians/parents
to apprise them of the performance, progress and problems
of the students. Suggestions from parents/guardians are welcome
regarding academic activities of their wards; at the same
time they are made aware about their responsibilities towards
their wards.
There
is an intention to form a Guardians’ forum calling guardians
in groups and have them to interact with teachers and administration.
Non Teaching Association
The three colleges situated at 102/1, Raja Rammohan Sarani
campus have a common Association under the name of City College
Employees' Union, This Union elects member-representatives
to different committees of their respective colleges and helps
the college authority in the smooth running of the college
and inmaintenance of office and college discipline.

the grievances of students, if any. Students are to give in
writing their specific complaints and drop them in the specified
box placed outside the Teacher-in-Charge’s room. Every
